Everything you do as a private investigator is a form of marketing. The title of this post for instance is designed to make you take interest in this blog post. The title of your website, the content of your website, your business cards, the way you dress, and your product is a form of marketing. Put yourself in the shoes of the client and ask yourself, “Would I hire me?”. Hopefully the answer to that is yes.
My second quick tip is when meeting with a prospective client. When you meet with a client have something give them like a brochure, or a nice detailed flyer. Tell them who you are and what services you provide in that flyer or brochure. They may forget what you told them after you leave. You want to have something for the client to reference after your gone other than a business card. Refer to my marketing page for more ideas and the link for free brochure designs (with a small fee to keep the design) at https://www.privateinvestigatoradvicehq.com/private-investigator-marketing/
My third quick tip is to follow up with a prospective client and thank them for taking the time to speak with you. It’s similar to thanking someone after an interview.
I hope this is helpful information to new agency owners.
