The opportunity to review the NTONPOWER Car Jump Starter and Power Bank could not have come at a better time for me personally which I will get into in a moment.  What I really love about the idea of this device is that it combines two things that I think are important for any investigator.  It combines a power bank with the ability to jump-start a vehicle.

Quick Story With The NTONPOWER Car Jump Starter and Power Bank

So onto my story.  I received this device knowing it would be a good fit for investigators but the one feature I wasn’t going to be able to test was the jumpstart feature because I didn’t have a vehicle that needed a jump.  

Then the day before a surveillance assignment I was getting my vehicle ready and tried to start my vehicle but had no luck.  And though I could have jump-started my vehicle with jumper cables I knew it was the perfect time to test the jumpstart feature on the NTONPOWER Car Jump Starter and Power Bank.  I was almost giddy. So I got my video camera out, unboxed it, and started my review of the device. I then jump-started my vehicle with the NTONPOWER jumper cables and drove to the auto parts store and purchased a new battery.  I installed the new battery and worked my surveillance the following day.

Flashlight

The NTONPOWER Car Jump Starter and Power Bank has a built-in flashlight.  The flashlight has three different functions.  It has a normal flashlight function, blinking light function and an SOS blinking function.

How Long to Fully Charge NTONPOWER Car Jump Starter and Power Bank?

The manual states that it takes approximately 6 hours to fully charge this device (assuming when it is completely empty).

How Many Times Can it Charge a Cell Phone?

The manual indicates the device can charge an iPhone completely approximately 8 times.   This is quite a few phone charges.

How Many Times Can it Jump Start a Battery?

The manual indicates that device can jump-start a battery 40 times on a full charge.  

What is the Life Span of the NTONPOWER Car Jump Starter and Power Bank?

The company indicates this device will last 3 to 5 years in normal conditions.  I believe this is normal because the power bank is essentially a battery and a battery does have a limited lifespan.   The company also recommends charging the device every three months or so.

The NTONPOWER Car Jump Starter and Power Bank Has Two USB Ports

This device has two USB ports.  One port is a 5V-1A port and the other is a  5V-2.1A port.  The 5V-2.1A port will be the faster-charging port of the two.

What Laptop Attachments Come in the Package?

Though it doesn’t say in the manual the Amazon selling page indicates that the laptop charging adapters charge most laptops including Sony, IBM, Acer, Toshiba, HP, Dell and Samsung laptops.  It did not have any attachments for my Acer Chromebook unfortunately but my Chromebook lasts forever so I probably wouldn’t need to charge it anyways.

Final Thoughts on the NTONPOWER Car Jump Starter and Power Bank?

If you have listened to my podcasts or watched my videos you know how much I love power banks.  Power banks aren’t some super sexy private investigator tool but they have saved my butt on many surveillance assignments and on many family adventures.

I love how everything is kept in a case and is secured nicely within the case so you can clearly see where everything is.  

Having a power bank that doubles as a jump starter is a huge asset for a private investigator especially when someone needs to jump their vehicle but needs to be discrete.  I have been in situations far from home where it was difficult to get someone to help me jump my vehicle.  This device eliminates that issue.

And finally this power bank is 18000 mAh which is a decent size and you can get plenty of charges out of it for your devices.  

I think they did a good job with this device and the accessories that come with it. As I review and write this, this device is being sold for $89.99.
