NOVOO 20100 mAh AC Power Bank Review by a Private Investigator

If you are looking for a powerful and practical power bank, then the NOVOO 20100 mAh AC Power Bank maybe the power bank you want. Power banks are important for anyone to have but I especially think it is important for private investigators to have while working in the field.  I think we can agree there is always a time that we could use a power source in an area where power is not available. I have reviewed power banks in the past that have served me well more times than I can count. With that being said, I have always wanted a power bank that had an AC outlet and not just USB connectors. 

Novoo reached out to me and asked if I would take a look at their 20100 mAH AC outlet power bank.  I was truly excited to test an affordable power bank of his nature for you.

• The Novoo AC Outlet Power Bank (The device that stores the power)
• Power Adapter (The device that charges your power bank)
• USB Cable (To connect to your micro USB devices)

• Battery Capacity: 20100mAh((6700mAh, 3.6V)*3), 72.36Wh
• AC Output: 110-120V~60Hz 70W Max, 60W Rated
• USB-A Output: 5V/2A Max, 9V/2A Max
• Type-C Output: 5V/3A Max
• Input: 19V/1.6A Max

The AC Outlet Power Bank has three connectors to power up devices.  The outlets include the following:

USB Type-C

This connector type is becoming increasingly more common with devices.  Most notably you will find that Apple Macbook Pro and the Google Chromebook Pixel use this type of connector to charge devices.  

While I do have a Chromebook and use it not only to type this very review but as a private investigator it does not have a Type C connector.  So I was unable to test this charging port.

USB Type-A

The USB Type-A is the standard USB port you are probably most familiar with when it comes to identifying USB ports. I use USB ports to charge my GoPro, cell phone, tablets, spy cameras, and even some video cameras.  This USB port charges just as fast as my quick charging device which is incredibly impressive for a portable power bank. 

AC Plug

The AC plug is perfect for charging laptops or anything that doesn’t have a USB plug.  I used it to charge my ACER Chromebook while writing this very review. In a short time, my laptop was charged at 70 percent while this power bank continued to have nearly 80 percent of its power remaining.  

How to Use the NOVOO 20100 mAH AC Power Bank

When I opened my box there were no instructions included but when I reached out to NOVOO they sent me a PDF of the instructions and explained that there would be instructions in future orders of this power bank.  With that being said I could have used this power bank without directions but wanted to make sure there wasn’t anything I was missing.

The instructions indicate that a device will automatically begin charging once plugged into the power bank however this is not always the case.  Sometimes you will need to press the power button for 3 seconds to get the device to begin charging whatever you have plugged in.

When all devices are disconnected the device will automatically power down after 1 minute of inactivity (nothing being charged)

To check the power level of the NOVOO AC Power Bank simply press the power button and the bars will represent how much power is remaining within the device.

Pros of the NOVOO 20100 mAh AC Power Bank

From my testing, I really only see the pros.  Here are some of my “Pro” thoughts:

Compact

This is bigger than my other power banks but it also holds twice as much power and has an AC plug.  My other power banks can’t do that. That is a good thing in my book.

Quick Charging

This device has a legit quick charging USB port.  No doubt about it, it charges just as quick as my quick charge plugs (for those devices that accept a quick charge).  This is huge for me.

AC Charging

It has an AC plug (my favorite part)! Charge or power devices that require an AC plug. I was able to completely charge my ACER Chromebook from 0 percent to 100 percent while charging my phone at the same time.  It is nice knowing that I have a power bank that can completely recharge my Chromebook while using it for those times when I don’t have access to an outlet. These situations happen every now and then for everyone.

Cons of the NOVOO 20100 mAh AC Power Bank

If I was to have a con it would be a very picky “Con” and that one con would be that I wish the device held more power. You can only stick so much power into a compact device.  

Final Thoughts on the NOVOO 20100 mAh AC Power Bank

The NOVOO AC power bank is a very affordable 20100 mAh power bank that I have no problem recommending to anyone interested in it.  I haven’t tested this over an extended period of time however in the time I have used it I have found it to work well. I believe it will bend to be very useful for investigators or anyone that needs to charge devices.  

I like especially how this device can fit in a cup holder for those looking to charge their devices this while on the road.
