The mini voice recorder by Milaloko is probably one of the smallest recording devices I have ever come across and have been able to review over the years. It is also probably the easiest audio recording device I have ever used as well.
So what does the device do? It is simply a very small audio recorder that can record audio for an extended period of time.
In this review, I am going to cover the following topics:
- What is in the box
- Specs of the mini voice recorder by Milaloko
- How to Use the Mini Voice Recorder
- Final thoughts
So let’s get into the review.
What is in the Mini Voice Recorder Box
The box is black with the word Milaloko on the top of the box.
When opening the box it was nicely packaged and contained the following:
Mini Voice Recorder
A very tiny voice recorder with an on and off button along with a USB port to charge the device and to transfer audio recordings to your computer.
Charging/Data Transfer USB Cable
This is the cable that makes charging and transferring your audio recordings possible.
Directions
Just in case you have any problems figuring out how this device works, you can refer to the directions for help.
How to Use the Mini Voice Recorder
The video review I created which can be viewed above shows how to use the device if you have any questions after reading this.
Basically, there is an on and off button on top of the device. When switched on a light on the side of it goes from red to a white color. When it is white it means that the device has begun recording audio. When you are finished recording, simply switch it to the off position and your audio will be saved onto the device.
Final Thoughts on the Mini Voice Recorder
I love nothing more than a device that isn’t complicated to figure out and is easy to use. This device has the capability of setting the timestamp so your recordings will have the metadata, recording the date and time of when the recording was obtained.
The following things stood out to me about this device:
8 GB internal memory (140 hours of recording space)
This is an incredible amount of storage for the Mini Voice Recorder to have. The memory is internal so you need the cable as previously mentioned to move your recordings onto a computer.
20 Hours of Battery Time for This Mini Voice Recorder
You can turn this device on and it will last 20 hours before it stops recording (when fully charged). I believe 20 hours is an impressive amount of battery time for a device let alone a device as small as this one.
Sound is Good
The company indicates that it can record from up to 30 feet around the device. While I recorded on this device while testing I found that it was spectacularly clear within in a few feet of my voice. You can hear the audio quality on the review video and compare it to video recordings audio.
Overall I think this device is pretty good and might be something you consider in the future when purchasing a “covert voice” recorder or for non-investigators a mini voice recorder.
