James Hampton of Tennessee Arrested for Insurance Fraud and Food Stamp Fraud #205

private Investigator tips

James Allan Hampton of Knoxville, Tennessee was recently charged with plotting to burn his boat and file a fake/false insurance claim. This is according to the reporting from The Standard Banner which shared the State Fire Marshal’s reported statements.

In late January of 2018 Hampton was arrested after he allegedly met with individuals at a public boat dock access in Dandridge and a deal was made to have his 1999 Wellcraft boat burned. This was to collect on a fraudulent insurance claim that would have been worth over $10,000.

No report of any damage was done to the boat despite the alleged incident taking place.

Hampton was released from custody at the Jefferson County Jail after posting a $25,000 bond.  A preliminary hearing was set for February 8, 2018.

While reviewing some of this information that was reported by The Standard Banner I found further information about Mr. Hampton.

Knox News  reported that James Allan Hampton, 52 years of age, was taken into custody on 21 felony warrants (which may have included the above boat fraud) which they say included food stamp fraud, identity theft, theft, and delivery of a Schedule I drugs and computer crimes according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

In this report, Hampton was accused of running a business named Volunteer Meat and Seafood which was a front for the EBT (food stamp) card and drug scheme.

Hampton was apparently running the front from a van and used a mobile card reader to charge the food stamp cards in exchange for heroin from undercover police officers at least once. He was accused of charging funds totaling $4,268 in the scheme.

Authorities stated that this is literally taking food resources that should be used to feed families and not addictions.

Authorities also stated that the fake business Hampton was running had no business license or sales tax records.

Hampton was taken into custody and held in lieu of $56,000 bond.

There was another accomplice named Joseph George Faddoul was also arrested in connection with the scheme.  He attempted to provide a fake name but was eventually identified as the individual involved.

Selling Food Stamps for Drugs

There are so many sad things with this news story.  The fact that Hampton could somehow have the ability to accept food stamps through a fictitious business is a serious problem.  Whatever loophole he was able to use needs to be closed.

I think this guy needs to be put away (assuming he is guilty) for a long time as the insurance fraud scam just further enforces the type of guy individual he is.

Anyways I am just glad he was caught and hopefully, they can take this guy off the street.
