In a time where it is illegal to hold a phone while driving in the United States a vehicle phone holder is important to have for anyone, especially a private investigator. And because I use my phone while driving to different locations as a private investigator, I know the importance of having a phone mounted in a vehicle like the Gravity Mount Car Phone Holder by Volport.
I use the Google Maps app on my phone all the time when traveling to different investigation assignments. And when I use my phone in my surveillance vehicle I usually place it on my dash area because it fits nicely. But if I make sudden stops or make sharp turns it is known to leave that position and fly around in my vehicle.
And when I am not using a phone for the map feature I might be watching a movie or video of some sort while parked. It is nice to have a device that holds my phone so I don’t have to.
And that is why I was pleased to be able to review the Gravity Mount Car Phone Holder by VOLPORT. Because everyone needs a car mount of some sort. I chose to review one that could connect to my air vents or in my CD player because I didn’t want something on my window or something stuck to my dash (just my personal preference).
So in this review, I discuss the following:

How The Gravity Mount Car Phone Holder Works
Gravity Mount
The mount works by sliding your phone into the mount. As the phone reaches the bottom portion of the mount the sides of the mount close in on the phone to secure it from both sides (photos below).
The clamping areas on the bottom and sides of the mount are made of metal but are padded in the areas that make contact with the phone.
CD Player Attachment or Air Vent Attachment
VOLPORT provides two options with this specific phone holder package. You can mount your phone holder in your CD Player or in an air vent.
Each attachment connects to the phone holder with no problems. The connecting devices (CD insert and vent attachment) connects easily to their respective locations.
My Thoughts on The Gravity Mount Car Phone Holder By VOLPORT
This car phone holder mount fits even the largest phones (tested with Samsung Note 3 without a cover) and smaller devices like an iPod with a thick cover.
I liked that the clamps are padded and made of metal. I personally liked having an option to either mount it in the CD player or the air vent (both came in the package). Both options worked and held my phone in place nicely. It detaches easily in case you want to move to another vehicle.
Overall I was pleased with it and look forward to using it on a daily basis with my phone.
