DBPOWER reached out to me and asked me to review their DBPOWER 12 Volt DC Portable Electric Air Compressor. I was happy to do so because having a portable air compressor is important for anyone to have whether they are a private investigator or not. I know personally having a portable air compressor has gotten me out of some jams in the past especially while conducting a surveillance. So here is the DBPOWER 12 Volt DC Portable Electric Air Compressor Review.

What’s in the Box?
- Air Compressor
- Instructions
- Inflator Adapters
This air compressor gets its power by plugging into the cigarette lighter within your vehicle. There is an on and off switch located on the air compressor that gives you the control to turn it on or off after it is plugged in.
Since I didn’t have a tire to inflate when reviewing this product my son and I pulled out a basketball that we had been playing with that had lost quite a bit of air of the past year. I deflated it completely and filled it up while being timed. You can see the results in the video below. I have had portable air compressors in the past that were not able to inflate very quickly which was very frustrating. I did not have any problems with the device when operating the air compressor.
What I Liked About the DBPOWER Air Compressor
It Works Quickly
It took less than 30 seconds to fill up a standard basketball to 7 psi. I have used other air compressors that have taken much longer. I was pleased with my findings and the timeliness it took to fill up the basketball.
It is Compact
The DBPOWER air compressor has areas on the side that allows for the cables to be stored. This is nice to keep the cables nicely put away while storing in your vehicle.
It Has a Pressure Gauge
Again, many air compressors don’t come with a pressure gauge so you are left wondering whether you have over filled your tire or not. This air compressor does indeed come with a pressure gauge which is wonderful to have on such an affordable device.
The Price
At the time of writing this review, the DBPOWER air compressor sells for a very affordable price of $26.99. I have purchased air compressors in the past for about the same price that were slow to fill up anything I used it on and didn’t have a pressure gauge. This air compressor is a great value.
Speed
The Amazon product page indicates that this air compressor will fill up a medium size tire from 0 to 35 psi in 4.8 minutes. This is pretty fast in my opinion.
Concerns for This Air Compressor
The Amazon page for this device indicates that it is not recommended to use continuously for more than 10 minutes at a time as it may overheat. I don’t know that this will be an issue based on the speed it will fill up a medium size tire. Be sure to let it sit for a bit after using it for durations of 10 minutes.
It should also be noted I this isn’t specific to this device as I have observed similar recommendations on other air compressors.
Final thoughts on the DBPower 12 Volt DC Portable Electric Air Compressor
There was nothing about this air compressor that concerned me while using it. I was completely satisfied at the speed it inflated my basketball when tested. The cords fit nicely on the side of the compressor with no issues.
The air compressor reached the back tires easily when plugged into the cigarette lighter with room to spare.
I seem to come across a lot of products that are a great value and I can add this air compressor to the list.
