What Does it Mean to Live an Abundant Life

What does it mean to have an abundant life? I wasn’t quite sure what this meant until recently when it was explained by a mentor.  Yes, I have many mentors but one, in particular, I watch very closely.  

This one mentor would always talk about having an abundant life. He would always talk about living in abundance. I really had a difficult time understanding what he was always talking about.  I would keep asking myself,”What does he mean by that?” I even Googled it and wasn’t satisfied with the results I located.

Then one day I heard him break down quickly what it meant to live in abundance.

He said something to this effect.




Living in abundance or having an abundant life, means to have too much of something so you can give it away.  

 

He went on to give examples of what that meant which I will share below.  I will also share how I believe you can live an abundant life.

Living in Abundance Means Having so Much Knowledge That You Can’t Help But Give it Away

This would be teaching and sharing your knowledge with others so that they too will have that knowledge. This knowledge would be the type of knowledge that would improve their lives. This knowledge will help them in their endeavors, life, business, marriage, relationships, their children, etc..

This knowledge comes from a variety of things including experiences, trials, failures, blessings, faith, and success.

What Abundant Knowledge Means to Me

For me personally, I have a passion for sharing my knowledge on Private Investigator Advice.  I enjoy answering questions and helping those get started in the investigation industry.  It is very rewarding to be able to have a positive influence on those in this industry. I don’t want to protect the information that I know can be helpful to others. I love doing it.

For health, I have access and experience with a program that has helped me lose 83 pounds to date and has completely changed my life.  It is a program I am honored to share with everyone whether they decide it is right for them or not. I love coaching and being a part of their journey to better health.  

I have an abundance of knowledge in marriage (and it is still growing).  My wife and I were in a bad place with our marriage many years ago as a result of me working too much and not being the husband my wife needed me to be.  Through counseling and personal growth as a husband, I learned how to be the husband I needed to be, and our marriage began to thrive again. So now I share my experiences, struggles, influences, and resources that helped my wife and I have an amazing marriage.

These are the things that I have an abundance of knowledge in and I am always happy to share that knowledge with others.

Abundant Knowledge

Living in abundance means having so much time that you can give it away.

This might mean giving more of your time without sacrificing time with your spouse or children.  This would mean having so much extra time that maybe you decide to volunteer your time in the community.  

Having an abundance of time might mean you have more time to devote to your family.

Having an abundance of time may mean you give more time to your church.

Having an abundance in time might mean you take longer vacations with your family without having a vacation time restraint

What an Abundance in Time Means to Me

Abundance in time for me means being able to go on vacation with my family whenever I want to.  

It means being able to take my children to school and pick them up from school.

It means making all my children’s events and being a  present father.

It means not being restricted by a company that tells me I can only have 2 vacation weeks a year.

Living in Abundance Means Having so Much Money That You Can Give it Away

Having an abundance in wealth can mean different things to different people.  Not everyone looks at money and wealth the same way.

An abundance in wealth means that you can give money to the causes that are important to you.  It means that you can give to your church. It means that you can help others in financial need without adding financial stress in your own life.  

An abundance in wealth means that you can help others in your family financially without it causing a stress to your own finances.

An abundance in wealth can mean using that wealth to share experiences with others.

What having an abundance of wealth means to me

Like I said earlier wealth means something different to everyone.   An abundance in wealth means I can give more to my church, to friends in need and to different organizations that help others.

An abundance of wealth means I can pay off student loans and other debt I have accumulated over the years.

An abundance of wealth for me means I can invest in my personal development through seminars and courses.

An abundance of wealth means that I am able to have the means for vacations and experiences with my family.

How do we get to Live in Abundance?

I personally think there are three core things that need to happen to fully live in abundance.

1.)You need to constantly be gaining KNOWLEDGE.

I don’t mean just the casual knowledge of life you gain every day. I mean you need to be intentional with the knowledge you pursue.  This would be through the books you read, the videos you watch on Youtube with free knowledge, the seminars you attend, and the courses you take.  

 Intentional knowledge is for your personal development or skill set and it will help advance other areas of your life.  Be a good employee but work harder on yourself than your job.  Make yourself incredibly valuable.

 

2.) You need to constantly be taking ACTION towards your goals.  If you don’t have goals, figure out what you want in life and create goals to point towards.

If you don’t have a direction to point towards you are moving quickly to nowhere.

It doesn’t matter how much knowledge you accumulate in life, knowledge won’t amount to anything unless you put that knowledge into action.

If you learn a new skill as a private investigator or any other job, put that skill into action so you can master it.

I can tell you all the steps to starting a private investigation business but if you don’t take the action needed to get that license, that knowledge is wasted (assuming that is what you want).

So figure out what you want and determine what steps you need to take to achieve that goal.  After you do that you have to do the work.



3.) Finally, I believe the third thing you need to do to get to a position of abundance is you need to LIVE IN STRUCTURE and DO IT ANYWAYS.

Living in structure has been one of those things this year that I have had to learn and I am still trying to master.  Living in structure means that your day, whatever that might be, is planned.out each day.

When you live in structure or live a structured life, the schedule you make, the goals you set and your future success doesn’t care how you feel.  This means that you don’t do things just when you feel like it. You do things according to your schedule that will help lead you to success. And when you don’t feel like doing it, you do it anyways.

If we work in emotion (feeling good or feeling bad) then our success will be inconsistent and unsustainable.

I believe that an abundance in knowledge, taking action and living in structure will live to a life of abundance.  If you aren’t moving towards something you are going to have the same life as you always have had. There is nothing wrong with that if that is what you want.  

If you want more, then aim for a life of abundance.
