I am not in the habit writing about laptop chargers but since I had to purchase one recently due to my laptop charger failing I thought it was worth sharing this awesome laptop charger from Targus I stumbled upon.
The Targus Laptop Charger plus USB Tablet/Smartphone charger is that back up (or primary) charger that everyone should have for the simple reason that it has a USB attachment that allows you to charge a phone or a tablet. The USB port is fast charging with 2.1 amps. The USB port can be added in addition to the charger or not used at all.
The charger comes with a variety of attachments that makes the charger compatible with the following computers:
- Acer
- Asus
- Compaq
- Fujitsu
- Gateway
- HP
- IBM/Lenovo
- Sony
- Toshiba
- LG
- MSI
The charger is listed at 90 watts AC. The charger will automatically adjust to the watts needed by your computer but will not exceed 90 watts according to the users manual. The charger’s dimensions are listed as 2.2 inch x 5.2 inch x 1.2 inch.
All the adapters are identified by letters which correspond to the aforementioned computers. There are a total of 6 adapters that are provided plus the USB adapter.
There was no noticeable difference when both the computer and my phone were plugged into the charger. If anything, I felt as though my phone charged just as fast being plugged into the laptop charger as the wall charger.
One thing in particular I like about his charger is the angle of adapters that are provided. They are at a right angle which keeps the cable from wearing down from extensive use.
Overall I think for the price between $31 and $40 on Amazon this is a really good charger to pick up if you need a new one. I like that Targus took a simple product and made it much better. Hope you enjoy it.
